New sites coming soon

The main website has needed a facelift for ages (actually, 5 years). I will start to work on that soon, and with no CMS in sight, I’m tired of every website looking the same (just a CMS template).

8GB’s website will be updated too because some new stuff needs to be presented, and that means a new way of communication. That will take some more time.

Meanwhile, I try to get energy back to work on new shit, so the day-to-day routine doesn’t keep wasting my neurons. I have updated copiously the work portfolio, which you can find here.

That’s all from me now. We’re still not popular, so nobody will read this shit xD

I’ll show you what software I been trying to get into again as of late:

The tour continues…

What do you know: Wordpress does not help me post more often.

YES, I’ve been slacking on this front, but what could one do?
The touring is no easy business, and I have gone through so many location changes and other kinds of troubles, that I have been driven more crazy than usual and the website updating took a last place.

So here I am with some extra time to dedicate to this task.

As a bonus, I managed to install the Wordpress system in our servers, so this should be much, much better now.

Where were we last time? Oh, the UK

Latest tour happenings

Well, it seems not even having a Wordpress interface makes me update the bloody site :P
So I been gone for like month and a half, a very busy month and a half by the way, so that could be an excuse for not updating ;)

The tour has taken me to a load of locations since my depart from Switzerland, the land of my favourite trains. I have gone to Italy and to the UK, “infecting” two more countries with the 8GB craze.

designtendencies

We have been linked by these chaps: designtendencies.
What is it? According to them:
‘The objective of designtendencies.com is to help you build your repertoire by adding at least 1 new image every day. The images don’t follow any specific logic or pattern, but they should, somehow, be “inspiring” and, after all, will part of your “seen images”.’

Looks like an interesting little project.
Thanks for consider us inspiring! :)

Lobit Global Ops Tour – Part II: Basel

As soon as we were done with Microdisko in Stockholm, and after eating some traditional swedish meatballs (köttbullar) in a nearby 24hours eatery, we headed toward Anna’s house to chill out for a while before taking a bus to the airport. We were scorted by Paza to the bus terminal, and after an hour twenty trip we got to the Skavsta airport where we proceeded through the usual security bollocks and crashed on the plane, trying to get some sleep, something very complicated in a very cramped cheap airplane, specially for Stu :P

Lobit Global Ops Tour – Part I: Stockholm

Some more days spent in Geneva, in my own private apt by the Rhône river, some tourism done, and I took a train to Basel on Thursday 17th, to meet with Bubblyfish and Stu and catch a plane to Stockholm, for our gig for Microdisko. We arrived kinda late to the city so we met with our hosts, Jonas and Linnea, accompanied by Mr. Nitro2k01, and went straight to south Stockholm to our hosts’ house. There we ate some delicious vegan lasagna, and were joined by Psilodump and Paza Rahm for a nice night which ended up veeeeeeeery late.

NEWS 2007-12-31

Well well well, I hang my head in shame and admit not having updated the site for more than a year! Things have been, fortunately, extremely hectic here at the kiken.corporation headquarters, so I will try to resume things from my last entry.

After our succesful entry at Skol Beats, with which we have now performed in almost every reknowned festival of Latin America, we have been doing the usual rounds between Buenos aires and Chile throughout the year, with the highlight being our performance alongside dutch superstar DJ Tiësto, with whom it was an unexpected pleasure to work with.

After yet another year of setting things up in yet another Creamfields Buenos Aires, we set our compasses heading north, and prepared ourselves for our first entry in the land of Uncle Sam. We were invited, as 8GB, to the unique and world famous BLIP FESTIVAL in New York City, something we desired last year and it was now a dream coming true. The festival was MASSIVE, certainly, the best event I have ever been to, and you certainly know by now I have been to MANY. New York is awesome, and full of stuff to do. I managed to squeeze in a few gigs as DJ as well during my 1 month stay.

After this awesome experience, the end of the year was nigh and so came the usual summer taskas in Buenos Aires. Ending the year in the “company” of Paul Van Dyk, who obviously packed the venue with 10.000+ punters, I left to Punta del Este, that lovely-looking coastal city in Uruguay, every year more and more riden with problems I would not choose in my vacation spot. This time Creamfields was being held for the first time in the city, and in all, it was a pleasant weekend.

February was spent in the usual summer spot for the last 3 summers: Chile. We did a round of gigs over there with the usual and delightful company of our friend Anatomico.

Well that sums up veeeeeeeery lightly what has happened in 2007. I certainly hope this Wordpress interface will allow for more frequent, steady updates. We’ll see how it goes.
